Richard Kurtz, is a talented self-taught Santa Fe, New Mexico artist who combines unique materials in a playful manner applying intense colors and bold statements on found objects including old Bingo card and envelopes.

The wild graffiti style figures commonly referred to as the "Boxers" is an iconic series, which is based on his Hero, Muhammed Ali. According to Richard, "the image of the Boxer is that of a warrior but, a warrior contained within the confines of society…his ring. It is through the text combined with the emotional vibration of colour that my images transcend and attempt to make a “spiritual” connection. It is through this connection with “The Bright” spiritual that we are able to “radically understand” and transcend the daily pain and suffering of life."

All six unique mixed media creations are professional framed, signed and dated (2005-2006) by the artist. They have been in the collection of Sanford Besser up until now.

You can purchase the collection for $750, or individually for $150 each.
